Due to Construction at Canalside during 2017, we will no longer be able to provide scavenger hunts.

We anticipate resuming events when the construction permits.

Thank you for your patience.

We’ve designed this scavenger hunt for families who love Buffalo and want to have a great time while discovering Canalside and Buffalo’s heritage. Every Saturday this summer family teams will gather to race through Canalside solving riddles, finding clues, taking pictures and making videos. It’s family fun for all and it’s recorded on your smartphone.
Together the team will use creativity and their knowledge of Buffalo to complete the course. This scavenger hunt is designed so that all teams can finish at a leisurely pace and can participate in our awards ceremony. Win or lose, you’ll have a wonderful time and you’ll keep the memories of the event on your phone to share with friends or on social media. Tickets are $20 per team–your team can be from 2 to 6 players in size.

  • Saturdays at 11 AM in Canalside this summer

  • 90 minute scavenger hunt in Canalside

  • 60 minute version for families with small children

  • A friendly competition-every team wins a prize!

Teams consist of 2 to 6 players. Families are encouraged to participate as one team, although you may choose to compete against your group members. A smartphone (iPhone or Android device) is necessary to play–one team member must have a working smartphone. $20 is the fee for each team. This scavenger hunt requires the team captain to down load an app onto his or her phone. More details available in your confirmation e-mail.

Scavenger Hunts are a great way to spend time with your family. I designed this hunt to blend the best in interactive technology with good old fashion family fun. This scavenger hunt takes about 90 minutes to complete and is mostly outdoors. If it’s a nice day, there is no better way to introduce your children to Canalside and Buffalo’s heritage than this scavenger hunt. I like the idea that all the video and pictures that you will ‘take’ are kept on your phone and present a lasting memory of the day. We hope you’ll be so happy with the event that you share it on Facebook. Thanks for taking the time to look at Buffalo History Tours. We feel that we create the best tours in Buffalo.
